“It’s relatively easy to serve Christ in our safe Christian bubbles or in our planned and church-supported outreach events. It’s another matter entirely to live for Christ in our neighborhoods and at the workplace.”
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Those exact words appear in seven Scripture verses. (Leviticus 19:18, Matthew 19:19, Mark 12:31, Luke 10:27, Romans 13:9, Galatians 5:14, James 2:8)
It is strange that Jesus tells us over and over to love our neighbor as we do ourselves (for we take care of our own bodies and livelihood) and yet, many in today’s society do not even know the names of their neighbors at all. Nor do they know the details of the families and backgrounds of their coworkers.
Why do you think it’s hard to live for Christ outside of the church? What holds you back from sharing the love, knowledge, and salvation message to those in your neighborhood or workplace?
