“Hope is faith waiting for tomorrow.” -John Ortberg

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 NKJV

Let’s break this verse down: Romans 15:13a- God is the source of hope. If we have faith (believe in Him), then we’re filled with joy and peace. Romans 15:13b- Because of this faith, hope will exist with abundance (abound) in us because of the Holy Spirit (God- the source of hope). Biblical hope isn’t wishful thinking. It’s the certain knowledge that all of God’s promises will occur, in His timing. If we have God, we have access to endless amounts of hope. With this kind of hope, the kind that comes not from us but God in us, it’s easy to wait for tomorrow, knowing God’s good and glorious plans will unfold. Do you need to recognize God as your source of hope? Do you need to ask God to grow your faith so that you can have hope in abundance?
